Our Story

From humble beginnings, Libra Group remains driven by human ingenuity.

In 1976, Michael Logothetis founded Lomar Shipping. In 1994, at age 19, his son George Logothetis became the company’s CEO. Over the next 10 years, Lomar grew from three ships into a modern 55-vessel fleet. Building on insights from the shipping business, George established Libra Group in 2003.

Today, our platform spans nearly 60 countries and 15 businesses across six sectors, creating jobs, investing in infrastructure, and advancing innovation in the industries we serve.

We aim to unlock human potential by advancing the best ideas, promoting on merit, and providing a platform that turns insight into meaningful progress.
