SLI Opens New Regional Headquarters in Abu Dhabi

[November 12, 2025] — Space Leasing International (SLI), one of Libra Group’s aerospace subsidiaries, is opening a new regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, that will act as a commercial base for SLI’s Middle East operations. This strategic expansion, facilitated by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, underscores the region’s accelerating role as a global aerospace hub. SLI marks its arrival in the region with sponsorship of DRIFTx Abu Dhabi 2025, Abu Dhabi’s flagship exhibition and conference for smart and autonomous mobility.

Joining SLI’s existing offices in the U.S. and London, the new office marks a significant milestone in SLI’s global growth strategy. Led by Chief Commercial Officer Ilias Tsakalis, the Abu Dhabi office will serve as SLI’s operational and commercial base for the Gulf region, driving partnerships across the space and frontier aviation sectors, including zero-emission aircraft and enabling infrastructure.

Founded in 2023 by Libra Group as the world’s first space leasing company, earlier this year, SLI expanded its remit to include next-generation aviation assets with an order for 25 all-electric ALIA CTOL (conventional take-off and landing) aircraft from Beta Technologies. With the UAE’s proven leadership in space exploration, aviation innovation, and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and Abu Dhabi’s strategic position as a gateway connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, the city offers a strong foundation for SLI to deepen its presence in the region.
