Eliminating opportunity and achievement gaps

Libra Group is a founding sponsor of the MBK (My Brother’s Keeper) Alliance, an independent non-profit organization aimed at eliminating opportunity and achievement gaps for boys and young men of colour.

The alliance unites leaders across the philanthropic, non-profit, and private sectors to improve life outcomes for this socioeconomically challenged group. Our Chairman and CEO, George Logothetis, is a member of the MBK Alliance board.

In supporting MBK Alliance we have brought together the collective resources of our Social Responsibility division to provide a range of tailored initiatives focused on this vulnerable group of young men who need and deserve targeted support to stay on track. We arm them with core skills and provide guidance and support that prepares them for the workplace as well as offering direct work experience opportunities.

The My Brother’s Keeper Initiative was launched by President Obama in February 2014 to address the severe social and educational challenges faced by boys and young men of color in the United States. Libra Group has previously partnered with LEDA (Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America) and Miami Dade College to provide internship placements at Libra and across its global subsidiaries.
