Each year, Concordia hosts its Annual Summit in New York that convenes current and former world leaders, executives from top global corporations, and leading non-profit organizations to provide an intimate and thought-provoking conversation around the important elements of building effective public-private partnerships. This leading global affairs forum takes place alongside the UN General Assembly and identifies avenues for collaboration.
Previous speakers at the Annual Summit include former U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton as well as President Joe Biden while he was serving as Vice President. The summits have also hosted Colombian President, Iván Duque Márquez; Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres; President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde and former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. Representatives of the private sector have included Berkshire Hathaway Chairman, Warren Buffet; former Coca-Cola Chairman, Muhtar Kent and investigative journalist, Bob Woodward.
Complementing the Annual Summit is a series of strategically located Regional Summits, established to examine localized challenges and build long-term partnerships that transform conversations into action. The 2020 pandemic called upon even greater collaboration between the public and private sectors and Concordia went digital, conducting all its summits online and holding a regular series of interactive webinars. Concordia events have brought together over 18,000 people from 149 countries.
