Career guidance for young people
The Libra Mentorship Programme comprises year-long mentorships for selected individuals - principally young people, first generation college students, and students who face socio-economic challenges.
Providing role models for career pathways."
Mentors will serve as role models in exploring career pathways and helping mentees develop the skills necessary to successfully pursue jobs and internships. The programme commenced with 20 mentorships for young people from New York City and Miami.
Mentors are selected from key professionals of the Libra Group and its subsidiaries. Mentees will initially be sourced from the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA), which identifies scholars from colleges across the United States,) and Miami Dade College (MDC). The Mentorship Programme Committee works closely with the partner organizations to facilitate mentor/mentee matching and monitors the progress of each mentorship. Both partner organizations have a large representation of young people of color, first generation college students, and students who face socio-economic challenges.
The programme was launched in the United States initially, and in time will grow to include more of Libra's locations around the globe.
